I will probably pick it up in a couple years when it’s almost free. Most Telltale games are fun enough to be worth the time investment.
What are y'all playing? ver 2.0
Picked up that game on Steam recently. Bought a HOTAS before the prices start to go up. Haven’t played it yet, though.
Might save my first time for using it with VR.
It is fun regardless of VR, but I think VR would be pretty sweet. Not sure what their long term plans are with VR though.
You should check it out and not wait imo.
Nihilumbra (PSV) is yet another indie puzzle platformer. In each world you visit you find a new color that you can use to change the level to your advantage. The first color will turn surfaces into ice that you can use to sprint faster, make longer jumps and fool enemies to fall down pits. So far I haven’t seen any puzzle that requires more than half a second of thought. It is quite pretty on a small screen.
.NOON. (iOS) is very simple and yet astonishingly fun. All you have to do is tap on the clocks when it’s noon.
I reinstalled Company of Heroes (PC) again. It’s an excellent game but I never managed to beat the campaign. This time I’m playing it more cautiously. Instead of rushing out to secure strategic points, I’m trying to slowly advance with minimal losses.
The Witness: Really enjoying it, but sometimes you can hit your head against a wall for a long time.
The Division: Only played a little of the beta last night. So far so good, feels good and I can see some of the depth. Excited to try out the PvP areas tonight.
That looks great! I should install the first Tomb Raider (well, the 2013 re-imagining) but first I need to free up space on my SSD. 250 GB is clearly not enough for my main drive.
I didn’t have to kill anyone for food, I was just too much of a coward to stop the specialist from sacrificing herself to repair the ship. Gone, but not forgotten.
what’s that thing that makes it dark around certain objects? like there lara’s butt is surrounded by a shadowy background but that shadow is impossible
i think far cry 4 had it too, i really don’t like it
Ambient Occlusion. Darkens geometry in close contact with other geometry (also noticeable on the geometry corners on the rocky overhang she’s holding). It’s a lighting trick to approximate the sort of shadowing you would get from much more expensive lighting solutions (ray tracing, path tracing, etc).
Yeah it’s contact shadows as approximated by an ambient occlusion method. HBAO+ usually deals with that a lot better tbh. Shit/cheap methods cause massively blown out dark areas like that.
@toku did you not use HBAO+? Is everything ok at home?
wait, but it’s screen space right? i thought ambient occlusion was for ambient light but that effect almost seems to disregard ambient and depth
oh, maybe it’s the collision boxes that make it look wonky
HBAO was on I just assumed since I was on a nvidia card I wouldn’t have to pick it. Thanks, bless up.
