What are y'all playing? ver 2.0

#321

Defeated the castle boss! So i guess there are only four areas? Up, right and down. Makes things easier i guess.

#322

I beat the game at level 102. I will probably revisit it soon and try to make a more focused character build.

#323

ysss majoraā€™s mask has arrived!

i never thought iā€™d see the day! holy crap!

#324

Having a 64 GB memory card is awesome and I can now install anything I want on my Vita without having to remove something else first. Yesterday I tried Guacamelee! and Smart Asā€¦.

#325

Guacamelee is so damned good.

#326

Itā€™s a bit too talky for me and Iā€™m not really sold on the setting.

#327

Iā€™m having a very weird time with Majoraā€™s Mask. Itā€™s a good game, but so unique and unlike anything iā€™ve played in both game and story design that i still feel a bit uncomfortable with it. It also makes me feel pity for everyone and everything, i feel almost guilty for being able to wind the clock backwards while everyone else just goes along with their lives until they die from the explosion. In a weird way there is some pleasure to doing all this to help them without ever actually receiving anything in return, though that includes doing some really iffy stuff in hopes that the moment when i stop the moon theyā€™ll be able to keep living, whichā€¦ i donā€™t know, it feels very conflicting and personal in a way that is making it hard for me to keep on playing. Shit just makes me depressed, which is perhaps the point? It doesnā€™t just feel sad, but hopeless, dreadful, needless, and insurmountably hard to maintain the will to keep going. Almost as if this game were first and foremost an exercise in altruism and selflessness against the true depths of despair.

Itā€™s fucking creepy too! What the fuck! I had to stop playing yesterday at the Woodfall Temple because i could hardly handle the screaming and stuff. This game is something else.

#328

Iā€™m playing through all the old PS+ freebies that I never installed because my memory card was full.

Metrico was awesome. Itā€™s a puzzle platformer without any handholding. The level will react to your actions and you simply have to figure out how to move obstacles move and in which order.

I know that @ugh liked Proteus but I found it to be meaningless and boring. You can walk around admiring the pretty landscape for a few minutes and then youā€™re done.

#329

The side-scrolling puzzle-platformer psychological horror game Murasaki Baby is one of the better exclusives for the Vita.

#330

I donā€™t know if there is a name for the genre of New Little Kingā€™s Story, but itā€™s like Overlord and Pikmin. The beginning of the game is very talky and there is no exploration. You are forced to unlock new buildings in a specific order. Hopefully the game will open up a bit more soon.

The Order 1886 is incredibly pretty.

#331

Finished The Order: 1886 . This is easily the most visually impressive console game Iā€™ve seen. I think Adam Sessler talked about it feeling like you are walking around in an oil painting, which is a good description. I spent too much time admiring the textures, landscapes, and backdrops. This is the first game this generation where you get a hint at what the consoles are capable of. I finished my play through on Hard in 14 hours and would expect a run through on Normal would put you closer to 10-ish. The little details in this game are just incredibly impressive. The way the clothes behave on characters as they walk, how fog reacts with light, or a light rain interacts with the environment; it is a visually overwhelming experience. The gameplay is dash of Uncharted and Gears of War with a Kojima amount of cutscenes. The control scheme reminded me of Gears, although the cover system here is a bit more fluid, and enemies do a great job at flanking you or separating when in groups. Moderately impressed with the AI. The weapon scheme was taken right from Uncharted. The entire design of the game (score, atmosphere, levels) I think outweigh all of its drawbacks. Surprised to see the reviews treat it so harshly. I can see how some might not want to spend 65 bucks on game that has at best, 2 play throughs (maybe 3 if you are a collectionist), but if you own a PS4, it is worth playing.

#332

Canā€™t wait to pick up a PS4 in a couple years and go through the entire catalog on the cheap.

In the meantime: Evolve has been occupying every free minute of time my gf and I have at home. Itā€™s awesome.

#333

I did almost 200 km on Midfield yesterday. Joy of joys. The flow of this track is something special. The reverse layout is another world, very tricky.

GT6ā€™s Midfield Raceway design and layout is closer to the GT2 version of the track than the GT4 version. It feels tighter, and has more bumps. I like it very much.

#334

Itā€™s a great track, very happy theyā€™ve brought it back.

Pls give me GT7

I started playing Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines. There is a lot of information to process in the beginning of the game but it seems really nice. Itā€™s the year 1118 and my entire clan was sacrificed to appease the gods. It turns out we were fooled and now Iā€™m back from the dead seeking revenge. I started out with the fencer, archer and halberd classes. Letā€™s hope that is a good mix.

#336

After almost 60 hours, I can confidently say that the latest Pro Evolution is one of the best footie games Iā€™ve ever played, maybe the best. Itā€™s phenomenal. Deep as hell, hugely entertaining. The level of tension and sheer momentum some matches achieve is unbelievable. I havenā€™t had this much fun with the series (or with a footie game) since Winning Eleven 6 (or Pro Evolution 2).

#337

Just picked PES 2015 up myself for PS4. Itā€™s p good.

#338

Playing Nazi Zombie Trilogy.

Itā€™s a blast. Things die a lot.

#339

Silent Hill 2. Iā€™m breezing through the game a lot more quickly than when I was young. Using evasion helps more than you think in that game.

The Binding of Issac: Rebirth. A fucking frustrating game until you start recognizing the mechanics needed to win. That said, I still havenā€™t beaten momma.

Saints Row IV. I bought it in the sale along with Issac. This is my fourth playthrough and I still love how insane it is.

The indie platformer Kick & Fennick is one of this months PS+ freebies. Instead of jumping you have to use the recoil from your big gun to bounce around the levels. The first two worlds were really easy and the only challenge was finding all the collectibles. Now that Iā€™m on world 3 itā€™s becoming frustratingly difficult instead and you carefully have to plan every jump to avoid timed electric discharges.

CounterSpy (another freebie!) is a pretty decent stealth action game with random level design and objectives. Iā€™m now at the final level and it has already caused me to die twice.

I decided to get the iPad version of Sid Meierā€™s Starships. The textures are of poor quality and the text is almost too small for a tablet, but otherwise it is a great fit for a tablet. Performance is good on my iPad Air and the touch controls feel intuitive. Researching new tech perks, founding new cities, and buying planetary improvements are all done by spending resources instead of waiting for them to accumulate over time which makes it a much faster game than e.g. Civilization. The core of the game is instead built around building a small starfleet and using that for completing missions. Neighboring planets will be grateful for your help and with increased influence you can make them join your empire.
