If you think Fiore DeRosa is hard, wait until you fight the boss Chaugmar, which is guarding the fire crystal. You may very well never defeat it. Even if you look up strategies on defeating it in online guides, it still may not be enough. It’s a whole lot of luck and perseverance.
What are y'all playing? ver 2.0
Yeah fuck that, I’m playing easy mode. I’ve got enough games to get through as it is.
I’M READY
one thing i’ve found myself doing is first doing one turn of all specials, all braving to see how much i can take in one turn, then the next time i fight that boss i’ll know that i only need to get the enemy down to, say 65% of their health and then just stomp their fuckin arses like no one’s business
Really, brother, you have my sword. Good fucking luck. Oh! Maybe I can jump into a battle and help you out. I think that’s something you could do in the game. I tried it once, but I’m not sure if a human player entered the game or not. A character came, but whether it was a human player or AI, I’m unsure.
I just started The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. It sure is purdy with a very nice dynamic soundtrack.
Think I’m going to like this.
Finished Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
Really enjoyed it, it’s pacing and atmosphere are great. Tbh the puzzles are pretty simple but I didn’t mind that. I just enjoyed the story playing out. Had a good ending that tied things together.
Next up - Resident Evil: REMake
The ending of Ys: Memories of Celceta caught me by surprise. I had planned to go back to tie up some loose ends, but suddenly I passed a one-way checkpoint and then I had to make do with the what I had. I almost ran out of health potions.
Etrian Odyssey IV is complete. Totally and utterly complete. I finally managed to defeat the 2 optional uber bosses and fill my loot and monster encyclopedia. It took me around 165 hours to feel content with leaving this gem of a game. I can now leave it behind and focus on other games. Etrian Odyssey Untold is waiting for me, but I need a break before starting on another EO game.
I tried a couple of free (PS+) games for the Vita this evening. Both Luftrausers and Whoa Dave! are pretty cool.
I’m playing Assassin’s Creed Unity. I’ll get this out of the way: it’s playable, even without the patch. It still takes about 30 seconds for the game to load the city, which is why I dread to quick travel to another area on the map. You end up having to wait a long time. Other than that, it’s been fun. I think Unity is the closest to feeling like AC2. Arno reminds me of Ezio. His personality is similar. He’s a smooth-talker, and is charismatic. But, eh, there’s something about him that I don’t especially care about. Maybe it’s his character design.
Exploring Paris is lots of fun. Say what you will about Ubisoft, but they can turn any major event in history into a spectacle, and capture the atmosphere of any era effectively. As you’re running around the city, there are mobs of citizens up in arms, throwing furniture into the streets, and fighting among with one another.
The battle system is more challenging now. You can no longer auto counter attack with a timed button press, instead, you can do a timed button press to parry. You can also press the dodge button to roll around. I find it easier to parry. I don’t like floundering around enemies. It pissed me off the other day when I found out that in the harder areas of the city map, the extremist militias can one-hit-kill stab you, like how you can use your assassin’s blade. Some of them can do it as well, and it takes you by surprise!
