We’re getting a new episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones this week.

PS4 firmware update 2.5 will be released tomorrow, Thursday 26th March.
It introduces the Suspend/Resume feature that allows you to suspend a game by putting your console into Rest Mode, and then quickly resume later by hitting the pad’s PlayStation button.
Creating a Party has been streamlined with a reduction in the number of steps required. There aren’t specific details on what’s been consolidated.
You’ll now be able to back-up your PS4 to an external hard-drive and restore from there too.
You will be able to search for Facebook friends with your linked account and send Real Name requests in the same step. A Friends Who Play This option will be added to game detail pages.
Screenshots will automatically be taken when you earn Trophies, and you can now share videos on Dailymotion.
New custom controller button assignments, zoom functionality and inverted colours “will be available for all system functions, apps and games”. All games? That’s what it says in the press release.
The option to automatically install all system software updates is being added, and Remote Play and Share Play devices will support 60 frames per second streams. A Vita firmware app update coincides with this.
Vita and PlayStation App are also getting improved accessibility options.
The only other features that I’m missing are:
- a good way to stream movies from my home network (already available in other regions)
- PS rental service (also available in other regions)
- folders
- automatic synchronizing of trophies
- more apps
PSA: The last day to register your Nintendo Products on Club Nintendo is 3/31.
If anyone has codes they aren’t using, please PM them to me! Trying to save up for that 800 coin Majora’s Mask messenger bag.
Club Nintendo shut down a long time ago in Sweden, but I sometimes get codes for smaller releases where there is only one European version.
Dudes surprise Surprise! I never thought I had enough points, but between my girlfriend’s and my 3ds games, on top of the wii U games I hadn’t registered from Christmas, I had 800+ coins!!! Got my ass that sweet Majora’s Mask Messenger bag. I fucking geek out over shit like this.
Also I managed to snag a Majora’s Mask New 3DS (Which wasn’t elligible to redeem for coins for some reason.)(Bullshit reasons)
Also, just now playing Majora’s Mask for the first time on the New 3DS. The new 3D screen is an incredible improvement. I used to just use 3d on cutscenes, because playing for too long hurt my eyes. I could never git my face in that sweet spot. But I can play 100% of the time with 3D on now. So smooth.
Also I’m sad that I never played the n64 zeldas growing up, but I’m super glad I get to play it for my first time remastered.
Oh yeah, I bought an ASUS ROG SWIFT PC gaming monitor.
2560 x 1440 resolution at 144hz with G-Sync.
It’s quite nice although TN panels are not perfect in terms of colour, would prefer IPS.
Sticking with my old 1080p screen means I can continue to use my GPU for another year without having to worry about upgrading. I haven’t seen any interesting new products from Nvidia lately besides the overpriced new Titan model.
I kinda feel like OoT and MM are almost too intelligent for kids. Maybe playing them as a kid and then replaying them as adults would be the perfect experience (like FF games) but i don’t know if a kid could really enjoy all the shit in these games, especially MM.
Also Pillars of Eternity is literally too good. This shit is gonna eat me from the inside out.
I was about 12 years old when Zelda Ocarina of Time released, and I was anticipating it long before it came out. That game and Final Fantasy VII were two games that I obsessed over before they were out. I would be reading coverage about those games in game magazines at supermarkets frequently, in addition to being in awe at the concept art and screenshots. It’s interesting how many young kids hold Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask with such high regard today. Ocarina of Time especially was rightfully so popular back when it released in the late 1990’s. Maybe it’s just me remembering incorrectly, but it seems like kids from the current generation are a lot more interested in Zelda than the kids from my generation.
I agree with you that, by and large, role playing games and technical action adventure games like Zelda aren’t appreciated by many kids today. They’re more attracted towards Call of Duty and Minecraft. To clarify, when I stated that kids today seem more into the Zelda series than the millennial kids, I meant the few kids today who are enormous fans of the series.
What was your guys’ first Zelda game? Link’s Awakening was one of my first video games I’ve ever played, and thus my first Zelda. Actually, I’ve mostly played the 2d Zeldas. Awakening, LttP, Oracle of Seasons & Ages, and ALBW. Also played Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
