Alpine Vision GT Concept Revealed in Paris
The first Vision GT concept car of 2015 was officially revealed during a special presentation at the Festival Automobile International in Paris earlier this evening, where Gran Turismo 6 was also awarded an innovation prize for the Vision GT program.
“It’s a genuine sports car which combines the passion for cars with enjoyment behind the wheel,” explains the car’s designer, Victor Sfiazof. “There are numerous references to the past, present and future. The idea of a barquette stemmed from the Alpine A450’s involvement in the Le Mans 24 Hours, but the front end takes its inspiration from the A110, while the vertical fins at the rear recall the A210 and A220 and make a real contribution to the car’s styling. As an aeronautic fan, I also wanted to incorporate cues from the world of aviation, too. The airbrakes add a nice high-tech touch to the rear end.”

Gran Turismo 6 Track Maker Teased in Newly-Released Video
The UK-based video agency Pulse Films has quietly published a 1-minute, 8-second commercial for the Track Maker to their creative portfolio on Vimeo. The ad features a man doing tricks on a BMX bike, whose motions are then drawn into the shape of a track. The text reads “design your own track”, “with the new GT6 app you can build your own circuits”, and “the world is your track”, which is then followed by brief gameplay footage and the GT6 logo.

Midfield Raceway Coming to Gran Turismo 6 in Free Update
A classic Gran Turismo original circuit – Midfield Raceway – will be returning to the series in the next free GT6 update! First introduced more than 15 years ago in Gran Turismo 2, Midfield has not been seen since the release of Gran Turismo 4 back in 2004 (aside from an appearance in Gran Turismo PSP), and has never been seen on the PlayStation 3. It’s back in a big way, too, with full time-of-day and weather changes. It’s also been completely overhauled with a major graphical update for GT6.
**GT6 B-Spec Mode Revealed in New Game Screenshots**
“The B-Spec mode in which an AI driver can take over for the player who was introduced in all racing events in career mode. You can use the B-Spec mode for races where you find it difficult the qualifications, for example at the longer endurance races, or if you just enjoy as a spectator a race. You can select B-Spec from the Quick Menu, which will be shown before the start of a race event in career mode.”
GT6 Screenshots Reveal New John Cooper Works Mini
Two images of a mysterious new Mini bearing the Gran Turismo 6 screenshot logo were obtained by GTPlanet earlier today, revealing some details of a car from the iconic manufacturer which don’t necessarily match those of any of their existing models.A John Cooper Works logo is prominently displayed in both screenshots, making it clear this is a performance model, but that’s really all we know. The unusual headlight and front fender rule out an updated Cooper or Clubman, and the details don’t line up with any recent concepts shown by the British car manufacturer, either.
GT6 Update 1.16 Now Available: Midfield Raceway, B-Spec, & MINI Vision GT
After an exciting week of teasers, one of the more significant Gran Turismo 6 updates has finally been released: 1.16! Weighing in at 536MB, it includes one of the most-requested and beloved original tracks in the history of the franchise: Midfield Raceway. First introduced in GT2 and last seen in GT4, the track has received a complete refresh, with time-of-day and weather changes. B-Spec mode also arrives in 1.16, and brings with it a new set of more granular driver controls. The MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo car is also now available.

The “MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo” has been released. After the update has been installed, the cars can be purchased from the [Vision GT] option within the [CARS] section in “My Home”. Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the cars by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new Seasonal Events, available only for a limited time.
Mid-Field Raceway
The popular original track of the Gran Turismo series makes a comeback with further refinements! This high speed circuit is built on a mountain landscape full of inclines and descents. It is further made dynamic by the famous grade separated crossing where the direction of the lap circle changes, and its long flat out sections and mid- to high-speed corners.
B-Spec
The event races of Career mode are now compatible with B Spec, where the AI drivers race for the player. You can use B Spec for races you might find difficult to complete such as some of the longer endurance races, or when you just want to watch the race. You can select [B-Spec] from the quick menu displayed before the start of event races.
GT6 Update 1.17 Released, Brings Lexus & Alpine Vision GT Cars
The latest Gran Turismo 6 update has just been pushed live, and – although it’s quite a bit smaller than the 1.16 update which introduced B-Spec mode and Midfield Raceway – it brings two highly anticipated Vision GT concepts: the Lexus LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo and the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo.
Both cars can be obtained for free by completing a lap in their new corresponding Seasonal Events, where new Alpine racing suits and helmets can also be won for a limited time. A bug has also been resolved which affected players resuming a Championship race from B-Spec mode.

GT6 Update 1.18 Now Available, Brings VW GTI Supersport and GT Academy 2015
The latest update for Gran Turismo 6 has just been released, and it’s an interesting one: bringing with it a new Vision GT car – the second from Volkswagen – and officially confirms GT Academy 2015 with the addition of a new Special Event for this year’s competition (though it’s not yet officially started).
Greaves Motorsport LMP2 Coming to GT6 for GT Academy 2015
As with every new GT6 update, a handful of individuals in the Gran Turismo community have been poking at the recent v1.18 patch to hunt for hidden things – and this time they’ve struck a little bit of gold.
All-but-confirmed by a series of Twitter comments and retweets from the official NISMO account and also NISMO mandarin Darren Cox, the Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan car as used by Jann Mardenborough and Lucas Ordonez at the 24 Heures du Mans in 2013 seems to be coming to Gran Turismo.
In all, four cars have been discovered added in the patch, with the two versions of the Greaves car and two GT Academy-branded Nissan GT-Rs – the GT-R NISMO road car and a version of the RJN Motorsport GT3 racer. With four events in this season’s GT Academy, that potentially leaves gap for a fourth car that has yet to be revealed – and Polyphony Digital may well be leaving that for another update in order to avoid having the final round scooped like last year. The possibility remains open then for a high-speed decider using the Nissan GT-R LM in June
GT Academy 2015: Full Program Details & Regions Announced
Nissan’s full set of plans for the GT Academy 2015 competition have finally been revealed today, and it looks like things will be quite a bit different this year with some significant changes.
First things first: the competition begins tomorrow, April 21, 2015, via a new Special Event in Gran Turismo 6 introduced last week in game update 1.18. As in previous years, there will also be special “live” qualifying sessions held at various events in various participating countries – we’ll try to announce and cover these as best we can as they are announced.
There will be three international regions in this year’s competition: GT Academy Europe, GT Academy International, and GT Academy Asia. The three regions are divided up as follows:
GT Academy Europe
France
Italy
Germany
UK
Iberia (Spain, Portugal)
Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg)
CEE (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic)
GT Academy International
United States of America
Australia
Mexico
Egypt
Algeria
Turkey
GT Academy Asia
Japan
India
Thailand
Philippines
Indonesia
Observers will note that this is a fairly radical departure from previous seasons: there are no individual country regions, as was the case with the United States, Russia, and Germany in years’ past. Notably, Russia, Sweden, and Canada are apparently not part of GT Academy 2015.
Another big change: the final stage of GT Academy, “Race Camp”, will be leaving its spiritual home of Silverstone for the first time. The European finals will instead be hosted at the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit in Abu Dhabi. All the action will be recorded for a reality TV series airing later this year. The prize, of course, is as big as ever, with the champions receiving a full season of racing in the 2016 Blancpain Endurance Series driving a 550bhp Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 race car.
