Gamescom 2015
Thanks for all the trailers Leo. Thatās what Iām talking about! Time to get down to business!

Quantum Break
It looked like the game is close to being complete with its production. It is very far in development and it has big names involved with it. It seems like itās going to be a decent game and I like games with time elements. However, I donāt feel excited when looking at the gameplay video or story trailer. It feels too safe and doesnāt have any surprising elements.
Verdict: This game could be amazing or it might be just typical. I would not get an Xbox One for it, but might think of giving it a try if I had one. -
Crackdown 3
Iāve heard great things about Crackdown games, but I donāt have any history with them. The trailer showed promise. It started colourful and playful, it made me more intrigued and interested by it. Then as the trailer went furtherā¦I started thinking itās not the type of game I am looking for. It seems to be online only?
Verdict: Seems pretty good but not a game for me. -
Scalebound
Wowā¦that gameā¦at first it started in a very familiar way. The main character acting in a playful way and trying to be cool, similar to DMC games (he also doesnāt know when to shut up). But then gameplay started, I was impressed and surprised. It felt refreshing to see the main character fighting big scale battles together with the dragon. Iām not sure what itās trying to be, DMC, Monster Hunter, RPG, a bit of both? It seems to be further in development than expected. The framerate did seem a bit bad though, I hope thatās not for the final build.
Verdict: This is the kind of game that makes me jealous not having an Xbox One. I would love to give it a try. -
Halo Wars 2
Based on what Iāve seen of Halo Wars, this is going to be another game not for me.
Verdict: Uninterested in this.
Conclusion
My thoughts are pretty much close to Leoās. Scalebound is the standout game but itās not enough for outsiders like me to want to get an Xbox One. I would like to say that Xbox fans might feel content with whatās on offer as the games are made with them in mind, but I canāt be sure if that is the case. That seems like too little to justify an investment in a new console. The Xbox One (for the time being) is the console for Xbox fans who only have one next gen console and get their third party fix on it besides the exclusives.
Multiplatform Games
- Dark Souls III
- Tomb Raider
- Mirrorās Edge Catalyst
Those are the closest third party games I have interest in playing in this thread, but they are very samey. They all seemed like prettier versions of the previous games with little innovations of their own. The style is also almost the same, as if you know exactly what to expect before playing. Thatās why Iām not as excited about them, but I would probably play them.
Unravel seemed like a cool game based on what they showed, this is the first time I see anything of it. And from EA of all companies, what madness is this?
